Tassie Trail Runs - 6 of Tassie's best trail runs!
The Tasmanian trail running series showcases some of Tassie's finest tracks and trails for off road running. These tracks vary in difficulty from gravelled paths to steep, rough tracks, but they are all great adventures and some of our favourite runs.
So if you like getting out in the bush and exploring your backyard then these runs are for you. While some may choose to race, these events are more about enjoying some awesome trails and the speed at which you do so is entirely up to you. Walkers are more than welcome.

Run # 1 Tasman Run
Tasman Arch to Fortescue Bay
17km
16th January 2010
The event starts at the impressive coastal formations of Tasman Arch/Devils Kitchen and traverses the clifftops via Clemes Peak through to Fortescue Bay. Along the way, you are spoilt with spectacular views over Eaglehawk Neck to the north and Cape Hauy and the Candle Stick to the south. The trail passes through Dracophylla forest and coastal Sheoak groves with the finish at stunning Fortescue Bay where a refreshing swim is mandatory!!
A shuttle bus will be available before the run to shuttle runners from Fortescue Bay (the finish) to the start at the Tasman Arch carpark. A bbq will be on offer for those who feel like a snack and a chat after the event.
Fortescue Bay is a great place for the family with a sheltered beach, walking tracks and great snorkelling. Why not make a weekend of it and camp at the Fortescue Bay campground on the saturday night. Or if pristine beachs don't appeal to the family send them off to Port Arthur for the day!
Entry fee is $25 per person
plus $10 if you'd like to use the shuttle bus before the run
from Fortescue Bay
to the start of the
run, leaving at 9am from Fortescue Bay.
