BIKE RACKING & TRANSITION INFO

The number of bikes in the events necessitates an orderly arrangement of bikes in the transition area. There will be a rack for individuals and a rack for teams. Further information about the racking of bikes and the operation of the transition area will be explained at the event briefing.

MTB COURSE DESCRIPTION

Approximate distance: ~17 km

Estimated time: 1hr – 2:30hr

Team mountain bikers wait inside the transition zone until tagged by their road cyclist. Individuals must collect their bike from the racks but are allowed one support crew member in the transition zone for assistance. Riders must not mount their bikes until leaving the transition zone.

The mtb rider exits the transition area via the marked chute and turns left onto Rheban rd, they will then be directed right onto Wielangta rd and onto private property. On return, riders must turn right into transition (giving way to vehicles) and must dismount before entering the transition zone and tagging their runner. Maps of the course will be on display at registration.

The course follows a route that is well marked with pink bunting and red arrows.

For safety reasons, participants are strongly encouraged to carry a mobile phone in a waterproof bag (eg. Ziplock). The phone number for event safety will be passed on to competitors prior to the event.

The pin-on race number from your race kit must be clearly displayed on the front of your chest while cycling.
